Psalms 8:3

8:3 When I look up at the heavens, which your fingers made,

and see the moon and the stars, which you set in place, ¹ 

Psalms 115:16

115:16 The heavens belong to the Lord, ² 

but the earth he has given to mankind. ³ 

Isaiah 66:1

66:1 This is what the Lord says:

“The heavens are my throne

and the earth is my footstool.

Where then is the house you will build for me?

Where is the place where I will rest?

[8:3]  ¹ tn Heb “when I see your heavens, the works of your fingers, the moon and stars which you established.” The verb “[and] see” is understood by ellipsis in the second half of the verse.

[115:16]  ² tn Heb “the heavens [are] heavens to the Lord.”

[115:16]  ³ tn Heb “to the sons of man.”
