  1. Hai bintang Timur, terbitlah kembali dalam semarak cahaya terang, sama dengan kau pernah menyinari orang Majusi di malam kelam.
  2. Mari, tunjukkan tempat Yesus lahir! Sungguhkah Dia di kandang rendah? Bayi lembut di palungan terbaring, langit dan bumi KerajaanNya.

• [Psa 114:1] When Israel, Freed From Pharaoh’s Hand

  When Israel, freed from Pharaoh’s hand Left the proud tyrant and his land, The tribes with cheerful homage own Their King, and Judah was His throne. Across the deep their journey lay; The deep divides to make them way; Jordan beheld their march, and fled With backward current to his head. The mountains shook like frighted sheep, Like lambs the little hillocks leap; Not Sinai on her base could stand, Conscious of sovereign power at hand. What power could make the deep divide? Make Jordan backward roll his tide? Why did ye leap, ye little hills? And whence the fright that Sinai feels? Let every mountain, every flood, Retire and know th’approaching God, The King of Israel: see Him here; Tremble, thou earth, adore and fear. He thunders, and all nature mourns; The rock to standing pools He turns; Flints spring with fountains at His word, And fires and seas confess the Lord.

  When Israel out of Egypt went, From people of a speech unknown, The Lord among His people dwelt, And there He set his royal throne. The sea beheld and fled away, The Jordan’s waters backward turned, The lofty mountains and the hills With trembling awe our God discerned. What aileth thee, O troubled sea? Thou Jordan, why thy riven tide? Ye mountains and ye little hills, Why thus dismayed on every side? O tremble, earth, before the Lord, In presence of Jehovah fear, Beneath Whose touch the flinty rock Became a fount of water clear.

• [Exo 13:21] Forward! Be Our Watchword

  Forward! be our watchword, steps and voices joined; Seek the things before us, not a look behind; Burns the fiery pillar at our army’s head; Who shall dream of shrinking, by our Captain led? Forward through the desert, through the toil and fight; Jordan flows before us; Zion beams with light. Forward! When in childhood buds the infant mind; All through youth and manhood not a thought behind; Speed through realms of nature, climb the steps of grace; Faint not, till in glory, gleams our Father’s face. Forward, all the lifetime, climb from height to height, Till the head be hoary, till the eve be light. Into God’s high temple, onward as we press, Beauty spreads around us, born of holiness; Arch, and vault, and carving, lights of varied tone, Softened words and holy, prayer and praise alone. Every thought upraising to our city bright, Where the tribes assemble round the throne of light. Naught that city needeth of these aisles of stone; Where the Godhead dwelleth, temple there is none; All the saints that ever in these courts have stood, Are but babes, and feeding on the children’s food. On through sign and token, stars amidst the night, Forward through the darkness, forward into light. To th’eternal Father loudest anthems raise; To the Son and Spirit echo songs of praise; To the Lord of glory, blessed Three in One, Be by men and angels endless honor done. Weak are earthly praises, dull the songs of night: Forward into triumph, forward into light!

Marching along under His banner bright, Trusting in His mercy as we go, His light divine tenderly o’er us will shine, We shall be guided by His hand now and forever.   When Israel, of the Lord beloved, Out from the land of bondage came, Her father’s God before her moved, An awful Guide, in smoke and flame. The rose the choral hymn of praise, And trump and timbrel answered keen, And Zion’s daughters poured their lays, With priest’s and warrior’s voice between. By day, along th’astonished lands The cloudy pillar glided slow; By night, Arabia’s crimsoned sands Returned the fiery column’s glow.
