116:13 I will celebrate my deliverance,¹

and call on the name of the Lord.

Context

The Fellowship of the Early Believers

2:42 They were devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship,² to the breaking of bread and to prayer.³

[116:13] ¹tn Heb “a cup of deliverance I will lift up.” Perhaps this alludes to a drink offering the psalmist will present as he thanks the Lord for his deliverance. See v. 17.

[2:42] ²sn Fellowship refers here to close association involving mutual involvement and relationships.

[2:42] ³tn Grk “prayers.” This word was translated as a collective singular in keeping with English style.
