[46:11]  1 tn Heb “the Lord of hosts is with us.” The title “Lord of hosts” here pictures the Lord as a mighty warrior-king who leads armies into battle (see Ps 24:10). The military imagery is further developed in vv. 8-9.

[46:11]  2 tn That is, Israel, or Judah (see Ps 20:1).

[46:11]  3 tn Heb “our elevated place” (see Pss 9:9; 18:2).

[50:17]  4 tn Heb “and Joseph wept when they spoke to him.”

[22:32]  5 sn A quotation from Exod 3:6.

[22:32]  6 sn He is not God of the dead but of the living. Jesus’ point was that if God could identify himself as God of the three old patriarchs, then they must still be alive when God spoke to Moses; and so they must be raised.
