[9:15]  1 tn Heb “sank down.”

[9:15]  2 sn The hostility of the nations against God’s people is their downfall, for it prompts God to intervene and destroy them. See also Ps 7:15-16.

[119:85]  3 tn Heb “for me.”

[119:85]  4 tn Heb “which [is] not according to your law.”

[140:5]  5 tn Heb “and ropes,” but many prefer to revocalize the noun as a participle (חֹבְלִים, khovÿlim) from the verb חָבַל (khaval, “act corruptly”).

[18:8]  6 tn See Ps 25:15.

[18:8]  7 tn The word שְׂבָכָה (sÿvakhah) is used in scripture for the lattice window (2 Kgs 1:2). The Arabic cognate means “to be intertwined.” So the term could describe a net, matting, grating, or lattice. Here it would be the netting stretched over a pit.
