95:1 Come! Let’s sing for joy to the Lord!

Let’s shout out praises to our protector who delivers us! ² 

95:2 Let’s enter his presence ³  with thanksgiving!

Let’s shout out to him in celebration! ⁴

Let the mountains sing in unison

98:9 before the Lord!

For he comes to judge the earth!

12:12 You shall rejoice in the presence of the Lord your God, along with your sons, daughters, male and female servants, and the Levites in your villages ⁸  (since they have no allotment or inheritance with you). ⁹

12:1 These are the statutes and ordinances you must be careful to obey as long as you live in the land the Lord, the God of your ancestors, ¹⁰  has given you to possess. ¹¹

5:16 Honor ¹²  your father and your mother just as the Lord your God has commanded you to do, so that your days may be extended and that it may go well with you in the land that he ¹³  is about to give you.

[95:1]  ¹ sn Psalm 95. The psalmist summons Israel to praise God as the creator of the world and the nation’s protector, but he also reminds the people not to rebel against God.

[95:1]  ² tn Heb “to the rocky summit of our deliverance.”

[98:9]  ⁵ tn The verbal forms in v. 9 probably describe God’s typical, characteristic behavior, though they may depict in dramatic fashion the outworking of divine judgment or anticipate a future judgment of worldwide proportions (“will judge…”).

[100:1]  ⁶ sn Psalm 100. The psalmist celebrates the fact that Israel has a special relationship to God and summons worshipers to praise the Lord for his faithfulness.

[12:12]  ⁹ sn They have no allotment or inheritance with you. See note on the word “inheritance” in Deut 10:9.

[12:1]  ¹¹ tn Heb “you must be careful to obey in the land the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you to possess all the days which you live in the land.” This adverbial statement modifies “to obey,” not “to possess,” so the order in the translation has been rearranged to make this clear.

[5:16]  ¹² tn The imperative here means, literally, “regard as heavy” (כַּבֵּד, kabbed). The meaning is that great importance must be ascribed to parents by their children.
