David did just as God commanded him, and they struck down the Philistine army from Gibeon to Gezer.

Remember continually his covenantal decree, the promise he made to a thousand generations –

The Lord ordered the messenger to put his sword back into its sheath.

David ordered all the officials of Israel to support his son Solomon.

The descendants of Levi carried the ark of God on their shoulders with poles, just as Moses had ordered according to the divine command.

So the Lord’s messenger told Gad to instruct David to go up and build an altar for the Lord on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
