But he forcefully commanded them not to tell this to anyone,

They were both righteous in the sight of God, following all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blamelessly.

for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you, to protect you,’

Then they returned and prepared aromatic spices and perfumes. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

Then he ordered the man to tell no one, but commanded him, “Go and show yourself to a priest, and bring the offering for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”

You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’”

They were all amazed and began to say to one another, “What’s happening here? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

Then he said to them, “Where is your faith?” But they were afraid and amazed, saying to one another, “Who then is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him!”

So you too, when you have done everything you were commanded to do, should say, ‘We are slaves undeserving of special praise; we have only done what was our duty.’”

So he stood over her, commanded the fever, and it left her. Immediately she got up and began to serve them.

but he answered his father, ‘Look! These many years I have worked like a slave for you, and I never disobeyed your commands. Yet you never gave me even a goat so that I could celebrate with my friends!

For Jesus had started commanding the evil spirit to come out of the man. (For it had seized him many times, so he would be bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard. But he would break the restraints and be driven by the demon into deserted places.)

And they began to beg him not to order them to depart into the abyss.

Then the slave said, ‘Sir, what you instructed has been done, and there is still room.’

He won’t thank the slave because he did what he was told, will he?

So Jesus stopped and ordered the beggar to be brought to him. When the man came near, Jesus asked him,

Now when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to call fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”

Her spirit returned, and she got up immediately. Then he told them to give her something to eat.

The man replied, “I have wholeheartedly obeyed all these laws since my youth.”
