He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”

Then he said to her, “Because you said this, you may go. The demon has left your daughter.”

The woman was a Greek, of Syrophoenician origin. She asked him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

He asked him urgently, “My little daughter is near death. Come and lay your hands on her so that she may be healed and live.”

While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler’s house saying, “Your daughter has died. Why trouble the teacher any longer?”

Instead, a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit immediately heard about him and came and fell at his feet.

When his daughter Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests. The king said to the girl, “Ask me for whatever you want and I will give it to you.”

She went home and found the child lying on the bed, and the demon gone.
