For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, the elect.

Some stood up and gave this false testimony against him:

Many gave false testimony against him, but their testimony did not agree.

You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.’”

and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

And if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

So he told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

but worldly cares, the seductiveness of wealth, and the desire for other things come in and choke the word, and it produces nothing.

While they were at the table eating, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, one of you eating with me will betray me.”

But Peter insisted emphatically, “Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you.” And all of them said the same thing.

(Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I kiss is the man. Arrest him and lead him away under guard.”)

But he denied it: “I don’t even understand what you’re talking about!” Then he went out to the gateway, and a rooster crowed.

He said to them, “Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

For if anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

But he saw through their hypocrisy and said to them, “Why are you testing me? Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.”

But he denied it again. A short time later the bystanders again said to Peter, “You must be one of them, because you are also a Galilean.”
