There were about four thousand who ate. Then he dismissed them.

Pray that it may not be in winter.

Be careful! I have told you everything ahead of time.

but he ran off naked, leaving his linen cloth behind.

They shouted back, “Crucify him!”

It was nine o’clock in the morning when they crucified him.

But Jesus cried out with a loud voice and breathed his last.

He did not speak to them without a parable. But privately he explained everything to his own disciples.

Others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets from the past.”

Pilate asked them, “Why? What has he done wrong?” But they shouted more insistently, “Crucify him!”

They said, “John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and still others, one of the prophets.”

So they brought one, and he said to them, “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?” They replied, “Caesar’s.”

But Peter insisted emphatically, “Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you.” And all of them said the same thing.

I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

Simon’s mother-in-law was lying down, sick with a fever, so they spoke to Jesus at once about her.

Now some of the experts in the law were sitting there, turning these things over in their minds:
