So they began to discuss with one another about having no bread.

Now immediately, when Jesus realized in his spirit that they were contemplating such thoughts, he said to them, “Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?

So they began to discuss this among themselves, saying, “It is because we brought no bread.”

Now some of the experts in the law were sitting there, turning these things over in their minds:

When Jesus learned of this, he said, “You who have such little faith! Why are you arguing among yourselves about having no bread?

Then they came to Capernaum. After Jesus was inside the house he asked them, “What were you discussing on the way?”

They discussed with one another, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’

But she was greatly troubled by his words and began to wonder about the meaning of this greeting.

so he thought to himself, ‘What should I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’

When he learned of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you arguing about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Have your hearts been hardened?

While the people were filled with anticipation and they all wondered whether perhaps John could be the Christ,

When Jesus perceived their hostile thoughts, he said to them, “Why are you raising objections within yourselves?

But when the tenants saw him, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir; let’s kill him so the inheritance will be ours!’

Where did John’s baptism come from? From heaven or from people?” They discussed this among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’

Then the experts in the law and the Pharisees began to think to themselves, “Who is this man who is uttering blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
