When they saw him, they worshiped him, but some doubted.

When the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, “Why this waste?

But he denied it in front of them all: “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

He denied it again with an oath, “I do not know the man!”

Pilate said to them, “Take a guard of soldiers. Go and make it as secure as you can.”

Now when Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying down, sick with a fever.

When Jesus saw their reaction he said, “Why do you respond with evil in your hearts?

When the crowd saw this, they were afraid and honored God who had given such authority to men.
