But he looked around to see who had done it.

Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe him.

When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and bowed down before him.

(For they were afraid, and he did not know what to say.)

Suddenly when they looked around, they saw no one with them any more except Jesus.

In the morning as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.

So also you, when you see these things happening, know that he is near, right at the door.

Watch out! Stay alert! For you do not know when the time will come.

When some of the bystanders heard it they said, “Listen, he is calling for Elijah!”

But he saw through their hypocrisy and said to them, “Why are you testing me? Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.”

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

So the Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is against the law on the Sabbath?”

He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? Then how will you understand any parable?

Those who had seen what had happened to the demon-possessed man reported it, and they also told about the pigs.

Then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came up, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet.

When they saw him walking on the water they thought he was a ghost. They cried out,

And they saw that some of Jesus’ disciples ate their bread with unclean hands, that is, unwashed.

Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered.”

When the slave girl saw him, she began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.”

Then he began to curse, and he swore with an oath, “I do not know this man you are talking about!”
