But on Herod’s birthday, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod,

But when John rebuked Herod the tetrarch because of Herodias, his brother’s wife, and because of all the evil deeds that he had done,

When he learned that he was from Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him over to Herod, who also happened to be in Jerusalem at that time.

When King Herod heard this he was alarmed, and all Jerusalem with him.

At that time Herod the tetrarch heard reports about Jesus,

But when Herod heard this, he said, “John, whom I beheaded, has been raised!”

Then Herod privately summoned the wise men and determined from them when the star had appeared.

After being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they went back by another route to their own country.

After Herod had died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt

For John had repeatedly told Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

And Jesus ordered them, “Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod!”

Neither did Herod, for he sent him back to us. Look, he has done nothing deserving death.

About that time King Herod laid hands on some from the church to harm them.

On a day determined in advance, Herod put on his royal robes, sat down on the judgment seat, and made a speech to them.

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, in the time of King Herod, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem

For Herod had arrested John, bound him, and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,

But a suitable day came, when Herod gave a banquet on his birthday for his court officials, military commanders, and leaders of Galilee.

and Joanna the wife of Cuza (Herod’s household manager), Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their own resources.

Now Herod the tetrarch heard about everything that was happening, and he was thoroughly perplexed, because some people were saying that John had been raised from the dead,

Herod said, “I had John beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” So Herod wanted to learn about Jesus.
