Then two outlaws were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left.

The robbers who were crucified with him also spoke abusively to him.

And they crucified two outlaws with him, one on his right and one on his left.

Jesus said to them, “Have you come with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw?

Which of these three do you think became a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”

All who came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.

Then they shouted back, “Not this man, but Barabbas!” (Now Barabbas was a revolutionary.)

And he said to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are turning it into a den of robbers!”

saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of robbers!”

Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders who had come out to get him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs like you would against an outlaw?

“I tell you the solemn truth, the one who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber.

I have been on journeys many times, in dangers from rivers, in dangers from robbers, in dangers from my own countrymen, in dangers from Gentiles, in dangers in the city, in dangers in the wilderness, in dangers at sea, in dangers from false brothers,

At that moment Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? Day after day I sat teaching in the temple courts, yet you did not arrest me.

Then he began to teach them and said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have turned it into a den of robbers!”

Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him up, and went off, leaving him half dead.
