This became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.

So the word of the Lord was spreading through the entire region.

Great fear gripped the whole church and all who heard about these things.

When they had crossed over the whole island as far as Paphos, they found a magician, a Jewish false prophet named Bar-Jesus,

While they were trying to kill him, a report was sent up to the commanding officer of the cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion.

Paul lived there two whole years in his own rented quarters and welcomed all who came to him,

Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria experienced peace and thus was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, the church increased in numbers.

and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught a significant number of people. Now it was in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.
