As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way,

Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Stand up, take your stretcher, and walk’?

A crowd was sitting around him and they said to him, “Look, your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you.”

He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”

For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever insults his father or mother must be put to death.’

They said to him, “Permit one of us to sit at your right hand and the other at your left in your glory.”

David himself, by the Holy Spirit, said, ‘The Lord said to my lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.”’

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

For John had repeatedly told Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

Then he said to her, “Because you said this, you may go. The demon has left your daughter.”

The second is: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

So Pilate asked him again, “Have you nothing to say? See how many charges they are bringing against you!”

While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler’s house saying, “Your daughter has died. Why trouble the teacher any longer?”

John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him because he was not following us.”

Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has healed you.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the road.

He said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.

Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer? What is this that they are testifying against you?”

He told him, “See that you do not say anything to anyone, but go, show yourself to a priest, and bring the offering that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
