But he looked around to see who had done it.

He replied, “Let us go elsewhere, into the surrounding villages, so that I can preach there too. For that is what I came out here to do.”

He strictly ordered that no one should know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

And they saw that some of Jesus’ disciples ate their bread with unclean hands, that is, unwashed.

He told them, “This kind can come out only by prayer.”

It could have been sold for more than three hundred silver coins and the money given to the poor!” So they spoke angrily to her.

He said to them, “This is my blood, the blood of the covenant, that is poured out for many.

Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.

If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here soon.’”

For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Jesus said to them, “Aren’t you deceived for this reason, because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God?

While they were eating, he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it. This is my body.”

He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Take this cup away from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

They were all amazed so that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He even commands the unclean spirits and they obey him.”

Now King Herod heard this, for Jesus’ name had become known. Some were saying, “John the baptizer has been raised from the dead, and because of this, miraculous powers are at work in him.”

When they arrest you and hand you over for trial, do not worry about what to speak. But say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
