I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

or else he might find you asleep when he returns suddenly.

Jesus began to say to them, “Watch out that no one misleads you.

But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”

Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will turn you into fishers of people.”

He answered them, “You unbelieving generation! How much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I endure you? Bring him to me.”

For I tell you the truth, whoever gives you a cup of water because you bear Christ’s name will never lose his reward.

Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me and I will tell you by what authority I do these things:

“You must watch out for yourselves. You will be handed over to councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand before governors and kings because of me, as a witness to them.

Day after day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, yet you did not arrest me. But this has happened so that the scriptures would be fulfilled.”

But go, tell his disciples, even Peter, that he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you.”

If a place will not welcome you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”

When they arrest you and hand you over for trial, do not worry about what to speak. But say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
