Pilate said to them, “Take a guard of soldiers. Go and make it as secure as you can.”

Jesus said to him, “Once again it is written: ‘You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.’”

But he said, ‘No, since in gathering the weeds you may uproot the wheat with them.

After he said, “From foreigners,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.

He asked, “Why? What wrong has he done?” But they shouted more insistently, “Crucify him!”

He said, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the slaves replied, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them?’

Instructed by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.”

“Which ones?” he asked. Jesus replied, “Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,

So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Then he said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.

Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, on this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”

and declared, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”

But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. Instead, just say the word and my servant will be healed.

Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be perfect, go sell your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Jesus said to him, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

His master answered, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave! You have been faithful in a few things. I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master.’

Then Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” Jesus said, “You say so.”
