The disciples were greatly astonished when they heard this and said, “Then who can be saved?”

At daybreak there was great consternation among the soldiers over what had become of Peter.

But if while seeking to be justified in Christ we ourselves have also been found to be sinners, is Christ then one who encourages sin? Absolutely not!

At that time the disciples came to Jesus saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

Then Peter said to him, “Look, we have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?”

They were overwhelmed by fear and said to one another, “Who then is this? Even the wind and sea obey him!”

So they began to question one another as to which of them it could possibly be who would do this.

So Philip ran up to it and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. He asked him, “Do you understand what you’re reading?”

Then you’re not that Egyptian who started a rebellion and led the four thousand men of the ‘Assassins’ into the wilderness some time ago?”

“Who then is the faithful and wise slave, whom the master has put in charge of his household, to give the other slaves their food at the proper time?

All who heard these things kept them in their hearts, saying, “What then will this child be?” For the Lord’s hand was indeed with him.

Then he said to them, “Where is your faith?” But they were afraid and amazed, saying to one another, “Who then is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him!”

The Lord replied, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his household servants, to give them their allowance of food at the proper time?

I tell you, he will give them justice speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

Therefore when I was planning to do this, I did not do so without thinking about what I was doing, did I? Or do I make my plans according to mere human standards so that I would be saying both “Yes, yes” and “No, no” at the same time?
