Then they returned and prepared aromatic spices and perfumes. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

Now on the first day of the week, at early dawn, the women went to the tomb, taking the aromatic spices they had prepared.

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought aromatic spices so that they might go and anoint him.

Then they took Jesus’ body and wrapped it, with the aromatic spices, in strips of linen cloth according to Jewish burial customs.
