And I hope that you will realize that we have not failed the test!

But if it produces thorns and thistles, it is useless and about to be cursed; its fate is to be burned.

And just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these people – who have warped minds and are disqualified in the faith – also oppose the truth.

They profess to know God but with their deeds they deny him, since they are detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good deed.

Now we pray to God that you may not do anything wrong, not so that we may appear to have passed the test, but so that you may do what is right even if we may appear to have failed the test.
