Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see!

When they sprout leaves, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near.

He said, “You have been given the opportunity to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that although they see they may not see, and although they hear they may not understand.

Why do you see the speck in your brother’s eye, but fail to see the beam of wood in your own?

At that very time Jesus cured many people of diseases, sicknesses, and evil spirits, and granted sight to many who were blind.

“No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand so that those who come in can see the light.

“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a hidden place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, so that those who come in can see the light.

So listen carefully, for whoever has will be given more, but whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him.”

Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

For I tell you that many prophets and kings longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

He said, “Watch out that you are not misled. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them!

But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. He bent down and saw only the strips of linen cloth; then he went home, wondering what had happened.

How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck from your eye,’ while you yourself don’t see the beam in your own? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Then, turning toward the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house. You gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
