But the Pharisees said, “By the ruler of demons he casts out demons.”

But they said, “Not during the feast, so that there won’t be a riot among the people.”

In the same way even the chief priests – together with the experts in the law and elders – were mocking him:

When some of the bystanders heard it, they said, “This man is calling for Elijah.”

All the crowds were amazed and said, “Could this one be the Son of David?”

And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.”

When the Pharisees saw this they said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
