Jesus said to them, “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?”

The inscription of the charge against him read, “The king of the Jews.”

There was also an inscription over him, “This is the king of the Jews.”

So they brought one, and he said to them, “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?” They replied, “Caesar’s.”
