just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

And do not complain, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroying angel.

not in lustful passion like the Gentiles who do not know God.

So even David himself speaks regarding the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How timely is the arrival of those who proclaim the good news.”

For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function,

As you know, we treated each one of you as a father treats his own children,

as it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, to this very day.”

just as also you have partly understood us, that we are your source of pride just as you also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.

and not like Moses who used to put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from staring at the result of the glory that was made ineffective.

And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, which is from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

to finish what you started, so that just as you wanted to do it eagerly, you can also complete it according to your means.

And may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we do for you,

Absolutely not! Let God be proven true, and every human being shown up as a liar, just as it is written: “so that you will be justified in your words and will prevail when you are judged.”
