Then his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied,

But Jesus gently took her by the hand and said, “Child, get up.”

He then told them a parable: “The land of a certain rich man produced an abundant crop,

So Jesus told them this parable:

So he called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

But Peter denied it: “Woman, I don’t know him!”

He asked for a writing tablet and wrote, “His name is John.” And they were all amazed.

One of the experts in religious law answered him, “Teacher, when you say these things you insult us too.”

so he thought to himself, ‘What should I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’

But he will reply, ‘I don’t know where you come from! Go away from me, all you evildoers!’

Then when Jesus noticed how the guests chose the places of honor, he told them a parable. He said to them,

He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected people.

Now a certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

So the first one came before him and said, ‘Sir, your mina has made ten minas more.’

Then the second one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has made five minas.’

But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!”

So he stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing. Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.

The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,

While he was still speaking, someone from the synagogue ruler’s house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the teacher any longer.”

Then a man from the crowd cried out, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son – he is my only child!
