then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother.

But Jesus made no further reply, so that Pilate was amazed.

So Pilate asked him again, “Have you nothing to say? See how many charges they are bringing against you!”

Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer? What is this that they are testifying against you?”

Then they went out and ran from the tomb, for terror and bewilderment had seized them. And they said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.

There is nothing outside of a person that can defile him by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles him.”

After noticing in the distance a fig tree with leaves, he went to see if he could find any fruit on it. When he came to it he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.

But he was silent and did not answer. Again the high priest questioned him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”
