Indeed, the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,

as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from long ago,

The words of the prophets agree with this, as it is written,

This gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy scriptures,

They answered, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

Others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets from the past.”

Woe to you! You build the tombs of the prophets whom your ancestors killed.

so that this generation may be held accountable for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world,

Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things written about himself in all the scriptures.

But the things God foretold long ago through all the prophets – that his Christ would suffer – he has fulfilled in this way.

But now apart from the law the righteousness of God (which is attested by the law and the prophets) has been disclosed –

He replied to him, ‘If they do not respond to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”
