If anyone has ears to hear, he had better listen!”

He answered them and said, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”

But they were silent, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest.

They were even more astonished and said to one another, “Then who can be saved?”

and he would not permit anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts.

Jesus began to say to them, “Watch out that no one misleads you.

A young man was following him, wearing only a linen cloth. They tried to arrest him,

“Why does this man speak this way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

His disciples answered him, “Where can someone get enough bread in this desolate place to satisfy these people?”

They went out from there and passed through Galilee. But Jesus did not want anyone to know,

Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe him.

Then they crucified him and divided his clothes, throwing dice for them, to decide what each would take.

They had been asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?”

“Leave us alone, Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are – the Holy One of God!”

They were overwhelmed by fear and said to one another, “Who then is this? Even the wind and sea obey him!”

His disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing against you and you say, ‘Who touched me?’”

After he sat down, he called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”

If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here soon.’”

and said, “By what authority are you doing these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”

One of the bystanders drew his sword and struck the high priest’s slave, cutting off his ear.
