Just as Jesus was getting out of the boat, a man with an unclean spirit came from the tombs and met him.

So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary was sitting in the house.

Because they had heard that Jesus had performed this miraculous sign, the crowd went out to meet him.

But Jesus met them, saying, “Greetings!” They came to him, held on to his feet and worshiped him.

(Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still in the place where Martha had come out to meet him.)

As Jesus stepped ashore, a certain man from the town met him who was possessed by demons. For a long time this man had worn no clothes and had not lived in a house, but among the tombs.
