He appointed twelve: To Simon he gave the name Peter;

or else he might find you asleep when he returns suddenly.

Pilate was surprised that he was already dead. He called the centurion and asked him if he had been dead for some time.

When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and bowed down before him.

(because they said, “He has an unclean spirit”).

He appointed twelve (whom he named apostles), so that they would be with him and he could send them to preach

He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions were hungry –

but he ran off naked, leaving his linen cloth behind.

He did not speak to them without a parable. But privately he explained everything to his own disciples.

He took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,

When he entered he said to them, “Why are you distressed and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep.”

And he was amazed because of their unbelief. Then he went around among the villages and taught.

The leprosy left him at once, and he was clean.

When Pilate was informed by the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
