Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai from the wadis of Gaash,

Benaiah son of Jehoiada was commander of the army. Zadok and Abiathar were priests.

Eleoenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah,

Ithai son of Ribai from Gibeah in Benjaminite territory, Benaiah the Pirathonite,

Benaiah son of Jehoida supervised the Kerithites and Pelethites; and David’s sons were priests.

Now Joab was the general in command of all the army of Israel. Benaiah the son of Jehoida was over the Kerethites and the Perethites.

Benaiah was the leader of the thirty warriors and his division; his son was Ammizabad.

Ahithophel was succeeded by Jehoiada son of Benaiah and by Abiathar. Joab was the commanding general of the king’s army.
