He added, “I have something to say to you.” She replied, “Speak.”

You have kept your word to your servant, my father David; this very day you have fulfilled what you promised.

Just then, while she was still speaking to the king, Nathan the prophet arrived.

The young advisers with whom Rehoboam had grown up said to him, “Say this to these people who have said to you, ‘Your father made us work hard, but now lighten our burden.’ Say this to them: ‘I am a lot harsher than my father!

While you are still there speaking to the king, I will arrive and verify your report.”

Bathsheba replied, “That’s fine, I’ll speak to the king on your behalf.”

He composed 3,000 proverbs and 1,005 songs.

Now, O God of Israel, may the promise you made to your servant, my father David, be realized.

They sent for him, and Jeroboam and the whole Israelite assembly came and spoke to Rehoboam, saying,

He told his sons, “Saddle my donkey,” and they did so.

The king of Israel replied, “Tell him the one who puts on his battle gear should not boast like one who is taking it off.”

The Lord says this about Jezebel, ‘Dogs will devour Jezebel by the outer wall of Jezreel.’

But Micaiah said, “As certainly as the Lord lives, I will say what the Lord tells me to say.”

He produced manuals on botany, describing every kind of plant, from the cedars of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows on walls. He also produced manuals on biology, describing animals, birds, insects, and fish.

The Lord has kept the promise he made. I have taken my father David’s place and have occupied the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised. I have built this temple for the honor of the Lord God of Israel

“The Lord is worthy of praise because he has made Israel his people secure just as he promised! Not one of all the faithful promises he made through his servant Moses is left unfulfilled!

They said to him, “Today if you show a willingness to help these people and grant their request, they will be your servants from this time forward.”

He answered her, “While I was talking to Naboth the Jezreelite, I said to him, ‘Sell me your vineyard for silver, or if you prefer, I will give you another vineyard in its place.’ But he said, ‘I will not sell you my vineyard.’”

Say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: “Haven’t you committed murder and taken possession of the property of the deceased?”’ Then say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: “In the spot where dogs licked up Naboth’s blood they will also lick up your blood – yes, yours!”’”
