Then Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned against the Lord your God and against you!

The Lord said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me – that person I will wipe out of my book.

No straw is given to your servants, but we are told, ‘Make bricks!’ Your servants are even being beaten, but the fault is with your people.”

So Pharaoh sent and summoned Moses and Aaron and said to them, “I have sinned this time! The Lord is righteous, and I and my people are guilty.

When Pharaoh saw that the rain and hail and thunder ceased, he sinned again: both he and his servants hardened their hearts.

They must not live in your land, lest they make you sin against me, for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”

Every day you are to prepare a bull for a purification offering for atonement. You are to purge the altar by making atonement for it, and you are to anoint it to set it apart as holy.

The next day Moses said to the people, “You have committed a very serious sin, but now I will go up to the Lord – perhaps I can make atonement on behalf of your sin.”

So Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Alas, this people has committed a very serious sin, and they have made for themselves gods of gold.

Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you so that you do not sin.”
