ס (Samek) You shrouded yourself with anger and then pursued us; you killed without mercy.

Then the Lord became zealous for his land; he had compassion on his people.

Saul replied, “May you be blessed by the Lord, for you have had compassion on me.

if he retains it for himself and does not let it go, and holds it fast in his mouth,

It hurls itself against him without pity as he flees headlong from its power.

for jealousy kindles a husband’s rage, and he will not show mercy when he takes revenge.

Then I would yet have my comfort, then I would rejoice, in spite of pitiless pain, for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.

his archers surround me. Without pity he pierces my kidneys and pours out my gall on the ground.

I was concerned for my holy reputation which the house of Israel profaned among the nations where they went.

Will he then continue to fill and empty his throw net? Will he always destroy nations and spare none?

“They will belong to me,” says the Lord who rules over all, “in the day when I prepare my own special property. I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him.
