Thus the poor have hope, and iniquity shuts its mouth.

Will you speak wickedly on God’s behalf? Will you speak deceitfully for him?

Is there any falsehood on my lips? Can my mouth not discern evil things?

if iniquity is in your hand – put it far away, and do not let evil reside in your tents.

how much less man, who is abominable and corrupt, who drinks in evil like water!

If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; if you remove wicked behavior far from your tent,

my lips will not speak wickedness, and my tongue will whisper no deceit.

Who has prescribed his ways for him? Or said to him, ‘You have done what is wicked’?

Relent, let there be no falsehood; reconsider, for my righteousness is intact!

The womb forgets him, the worm feasts on him, no longer will he be remembered. Like a tree, wickedness will be broken down.

“Therefore, listen to me, you men of understanding. Far be it from God to do wickedness, from the Almighty to do evil.

Teach me what I cannot see. If I have done evil, I will do so no more.’
