but if the cloud was not lifted up, then they would not journey further until the day it was lifted up.

Frogs will come up against you, your people, and all your servants.”’”

Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up,

Moses went up the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.

The magicians did the same with their secret arts and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt too.

A mixed multitude also went up with them, and flocks and herds – a very large number of cattle.

And you must not go up by steps to my altar, so that your nakedness is not exposed.’

Moses alone may come near the Lord, but the others must not come near, nor may the people go up with him.”

He sent young Israelite men, and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls for peace offerings to the Lord.

So Moses set out with Joshua his attendant, and Moses went up the mountain of God.

“You are to make its seven lamps, and then set its lamps up on it, so that it will give light to the area in front of it.

When Aaron sets up the lamps around sundown he is to burn incense on it; it is to be a regular incense offering before the Lord throughout your generations.

You must not offer strange incense on it, nor burnt offering, nor meal offering, and you must not pour out a drink offering on it.

So they got up early on the next day and offered up burnt offerings and brought peace offerings, and the people sat down to eat and drink, and they rose up to play.

And Moses said to him, “If your presence does not go with us, do not take us up from here.

You are to bring in the table and set out the things that belong on it; then you are to bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps.

Then he set up the lamps before the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

But when the cloud was lifted up from the tabernacle, the Israelites would set out on all their journeys;

The Lord said to him, “Go, get down, and come up, and Aaron with you, but do not let the priests and the people force their way through to come up to the Lord, lest he break through against them.”

The Lord said to Moses, “Go up from here, you and the people whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, to the land I promised on oath to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’
