He put him in charge of his palace, and made him manager of all his property,

Tremble, O earth, before the Lord – before the God of Jacob,

Look! The ark of the covenant of the Ruler of the whole earth is ready to enter the Jordan ahead of you.

They say, “We speak persuasively; we know how to flatter and boast. Who is our master?”

The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of the whole earth.

So he said, “These are the two anointed ones who stand by the Lord of the whole earth.”

These are the ones who came up from Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Kerub, Addon, and Immer (although they were unable to certify their family connection or their ancestry, as to whether they were really from Israel):

The messenger replied, “These are the four spirits of heaven that have been presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth.

When the feet of the priests carrying the ark of the Lord, the Ruler of the whole earth, touch the water of the Jordan, the water coming downstream toward you will stop flowing and pile up.”

So the Lord has this to say about Josiah’s son, King Jehoiakim of Judah: People will not mourn for him, saying, “This makes me sad, my brother! This makes me sad, my sister!” They will not mourn for him, saying, “Poor, poor lord! Poor, poor majesty!”

You will die a peaceful death. They will burn incense at your burial just as they did at the burial of your ancestors, the former kings who preceded you. They will mourn for you, saying, “Poor, poor master!” Indeed, you have my own word on this. I, the Lord, affirm it!’”
