Yet Pharaoh’s heart became hard, and he did not listen to them, just as the Lord had predicted.

“You must not give a false report. Do not make common cause with the wicked to be a malicious witness.

But the magicians of Egypt did the same by their secret arts, and so Pharaoh’s heart remained hard, and he refused to listen to Moses and Aaron – just as the Lord had predicted.

If you afflict them in any way and they cry to me, I will surely hear their cry,

But if you diligently obey him and do all that I command, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will be an adversary to your adversaries.

Moses said, “It is not the sound of those who shout for victory, nor is it the sound of those who cry because they are overcome, but the sound of singing I hear.”
