Do not long for the cover of night to drag people away from their homes.

He led them with a cloud by day, and with the light of a fire all night long.

God spoke to Israel in a vision during the night and said, “Jacob, Jacob!” He replied, “Here I am!”

God made two great lights – the greater light to rule over the day and the lesser light to rule over the night. He made the stars also.

They shouted to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so we can have sex with them!”

But God appeared to Abimelech in a dream at night and said to him, “You are as good as dead because of the woman you have taken, for she is someone else’s wife.”

But God came to Laban the Aramean in a dream at night and warned him, “Be careful that you neither bless nor curse Jacob.”

It was a night of vigil for the Lord to bring them out from the land of Egypt, and so on this night all Israel is to keep the vigil to the Lord for generations to come.

He replied to them, “Stay here tonight, and I will bring back to you whatever word the Lord may speak to me.” So the princes of Moab stayed with Balaam.

Now therefore, please stay the night here also, that I may know what more the Lord might say to me.”

I lay flat on the ground before the Lord for forty days and nights, for he had said he would destroy you.
