That was when the Lord spoke to Jeremiah,

Stop putting your confidence in the false belief that says, “We are safe! The temple of the Lord is here! The temple of the Lord is here! The temple of the Lord is here!”

Each of you should merely ask the prophet, ‘What answer did the Lord give you? Or what did the Lord say?’

The exiles from Judah will say, ‘The Lord has brought about a great deliverance for us! Come on, let’s go and proclaim in Zion what the Lord our God has done!’

The Lord said to me,

The Lord spoke to me. He said:

Then the Lord spoke to me again and said,

Then the Lord said to me,

The Lord said to me,

Then the Lord said to me,

Then I said, “Lord, pay attention to me. Listen to what my enemies are saying.

The Lord told me to say to the royal court of Judah, “Listen to what the Lord says,

O land of Judah, land of Judah, land of Judah! Listen to what the Lord has to say!

But just suppose you continue to say, ‘The message of the Lord is burdensome.’ Here is what the Lord says will happen: ‘I sent word to you that you must not say, “The Lord’s message is burdensome.” But you used the words “The Lord’s message is burdensome” anyway.

The Lord said to me,

Then the Lord spoke to Jeremiah.

The Lord answered Jeremiah.

The Lord spoke further to Jeremiah.

The Lord spoke still further to Jeremiah.
