“Call now! Is there anyone who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?

Is there any falsehood on my lips? Can my mouth not discern evil things?

Can his armies be numbered? On whom does his light not rise?

Does the rain have a father, or who has fathered the drops of the dew?

My lord asked his servants, ‘Do you have a father or a brother?’

The Lord looks down from heaven at the human race, to see if there is anyone who is wise and seeks God.

Those prophets are just prophesying lies. They are prophesying the delusions of their own minds.

“Whose daughter are you?” he asked. “Tell me, is there room in your father’s house for us to spend the night?”

He said to her, “Stand watch at the entrance to the tent. If anyone comes along and asks you, ‘Is there a man here?’ say ‘No.’”

As they were going up the ascent to the town, they met some girls coming out to draw water. They said to them, “Is this where the seer is?”

Then King Zedekiah had him brought to the palace. There he questioned him privately and asked him, “Is there any message from the Lord?” Jeremiah answered, “Yes, there is.” Then he announced, “You will be handed over to the king of Babylon.”

When he left there, he met Jehonadab, son of Rekab, who had been looking for him. Jehu greeted him and asked, “Are you as committed to me as I am to you?” Jehonadab answered, “I am!” Jehu replied, “If so, give me your hand.” So he offered his hand and Jehu pulled him up into the chariot.
