“You are to put it in front of the curtain that is before the ark of the testimony (before the atonement lid that is over the testimony), where I will meet you.

You are to put into the ark the testimony that I will give to you.

“With it you are to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the testimony,

the ark of the testimony and its poles, and the atonement lid;

Just as the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron placed it before the Testimony for safekeeping.

When it is time for the camp to journey, Aaron and his sons must come and take down the screening curtain and cover the ark of the testimony with it.

On the day that the tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered the tabernacle – the tent of the testimony – and from evening until morning there was a fiery appearance over the tabernacle.
