In fact, what other great nation has a god so near to them like the Lord our God whenever we call on him?

The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you – from your fellow Israelites; you must listen to him.

Then Moses called out to Joshua in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you will accompany these people to the land that the Lord promised to give their ancestors, and you will enable them to inherit it.

Now Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had placed his hands on him; and the Israelites listened to him and did just what the Lord had commanded Moses.
