Present to God a thank-offering! Repay your vows to the sovereign One!

When Zebah and Zalmunna ran away, Gideon chased them and captured the two Midianite kings, Zebah and Zalmunna. He had surprised their entire army.

Now the priests would always treat the people in the following way: Whenever anyone was making a sacrifice, while the meat was boiling, the priest’s attendant would come with a three-pronged fork in his hand.

“Whoever sacrifices to a god other than the Lord alone must be utterly destroyed.

“‘This is the law of the peace offering sacrifice which he is to present to the Lord.

“‘When you sacrifice a peace offering sacrifice to the Lord, you must sacrifice it so that it is accepted for you.

When you sacrifice a thanksgiving offering to the Lord, you must sacrifice it so that it is acceptable for your benefit.

The king and all Israel with him were presenting sacrifices to the Lord.

He says: “Assemble my covenant people before me, those who ratified a covenant with me by sacrifice!”

Whoever presents a thank-offering honors me. To whoever obeys my commands, I will reveal my power to deliver.”

I will present a thank offering to you, and call on the name of the Lord.

The Lord abhors the sacrifices of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

The wicked person’s sacrifice is an abomination; how much more when he brings it with evil intent!

For I delight in faithfulness, not simply in sacrifice; I delight in acknowledging God, not simply in whole burnt offerings.

Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain and invited his relatives to eat the meal. They ate the meal and spent the night on the mountain.

– just as it is taken from the ox of the peace offering sacrifice – and the priest must offer them up in smoke on the altar of burnt offering.

He must present this grain offering in addition to ring-shaped loaves of leavened bread which regularly accompany the sacrifice of his thanksgiving peace offering.

The meat of his thanksgiving peace offering must be eaten on the day of his offering; he must not set any of it aside until morning.
