O Lord, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked celebrate?

How long, you sluggard, will you lie there? When will you rise from your sleep?

When they were few in number, just a very few, and foreign residents within it,

Take notice of this, you ignorant people! You fools, when will you ever understand?

My eyes grow tired as I wait for your promise to be fulfilled. I say, “When will you comfort me?”

All my closest friends detest me; and those whom I love have turned against me.

Will you keep to the old path that evil men have walked –

He says, “How long will you make unjust legal decisions and show favoritism to the wicked? (Selah)

Turn back toward us, O Lord! How long must this suffering last? Have pity on your servants!

How long must your servant endure this? When will you judge those who pursue me?

“How long must I see the enemy’s battle flags and hear the military signals of their bugles?”

“I am a temporary settler among you. Grant me ownership of a burial site among you so that I may bury my dead.”

So he said to her, “How often do you intend to get drunk? Put away your wine!”

If I lie down, I say, ‘When will I arise?’, and the night stretches on and I toss and turn restlessly until the day dawns.

For he knows deceitful men; when he sees evil, will he not consider it?

if the members of my household have never said, ‘If only there were someone who has not been satisfied from Job’s meat!’ –

I am absolutely terrified, and you, Lord – how long will this continue?

I do not associate with deceitful men, or consort with those who are dishonest.

My enemies ask this cruel question about me, ‘When will he finally die and be forgotten?’
