Who has put wisdom in the heart, or has imparted understanding to the mind?

Because you have closed their minds to understanding, therefore you will not exalt them.

Call to mind now: Who, being innocent, ever perished? And where were upright people ever destroyed?

I will teach you about the power of God; What is on the Almighty’s mind I will not conceal.

For he fulfills his decree against me, and many such things are his plans.

“What is mankind that you make so much of them, and that you pay attention to them?

But he is unchangeable, and who can change him? Whatever he has desired, he does.

What you know, I know also; I am not inferior to you!

Listen carefully to my words; let your ears be attentive to my explanation.

They conceive trouble and bring forth evil; their belly prepares deception.”

My kinsmen have failed me; my friends have forgotten me.

Bear with me and I will speak, and after I have spoken you may mock.

Indeed, God has made my heart faint; the Almighty has terrified me.

Pay attention, Job – listen to me; be silent, and I will speak.

For God deprived her of wisdom, and did not impart understanding to her.

I also have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Who does not know such things as these?

“If someone should attempt a word with you, will you be impatient? But who can refrain from speaking?

But now the same thing comes to you, and you are discouraged; it strikes you, and you are terrified.

Relent, let there be no falsehood; reconsider, for my righteousness is intact!
